The people determine the outcome.
The sponsor matters. So does every person who owns a decision, executes the work, or holds the team accountable. One weak link can become a weak project.
My Approach
My Approach
Every engagement is different. I tailor the plan to the client, the problem, and the people involved. The sequence may shift, but this is generally how I approach the work.
Get clear on what is actually happening, what matters, and where the constraints are.
Clarify outcomes, roles, decision rights, expectations, and who needs to be involved.
Build the structure before execution accelerates: scope, sequencing, dependencies, governance, risks, communication, and measures of success.
Run the work with visible ownership, timely decisions, early issue escalation, and active adaptation as conditions change.
Build adoption, transfer ownership, reinforce what works, and leave the organization able to carry the work forward.
How I Work
Strong structure matters. So do the people inside it. These are four things I pay attention to on every engagement.
The sponsor matters. So does every person who owns a decision, executes the work, or holds the team accountable. One weak link can become a weak project.
I spend real time planning because good planning makes execution faster. When time is limited, I focus the planning on the decisions, dependencies, risks, and expectations that matter most so the team can move quickly without creating avoidable problems.
I need to know what is actually happening. I ask direct questions and create enough trust for people to raise problems, disagreement, and risk early enough to do something about them.
I pay attention to patterns, omissions, stakeholder dynamics, and what changes as the work moves. Judgment and intuition help me decide when to probe further, adjust the structure, or change course.
